What is a siphon?

Speaking of siphon, we have learned it in physics class. There is water in a tank, and one end of a pipe is placed in the water, and the other end hangs naturally along the edge of the tank. Yes, then loosen the mouth, then the water in the tank will flow down from the pipe. Because the pipe is arc-shaped, like a rainbow, and can absorb water, it is called a siphon phenomenon.
The flush toilets we use now, some shower devices, some sprinkler devices for irrigation on the lawn outside, etc., all of these are carried out by us using the principle of siphon. It can be said that such principles are ubiquitous in our lives. So what exactly is a siphon? What are its characteristics?
1. What is a siphon
It is the principle of the connecting device, the pressure added to the liquid in the airtight container is equal everywhere. And be filled with water in the siphon tube, there is no air, and the water level of the incoming water end is high, and the water outlet is closed with palm or other objects. At this point the pressure inside the tube is equal everywhere. After everything is installed, open the water outlet. Although the atmospheric pressure on both sides is equal, the water level at the incoming water end is high and the pressure is strong, pushing the incoming water to continuously flow out of the water outlet. The siphon phenomenon is caused by the gravitational force and potential energy difference between liquid molecules, that is, using the pressure difference of the water column to make the water rise and then flow to the lower place. Because the water surface of the nozzle is subjected to different atmospheric pressures, the water will flow from the side with high pressure to the side with low pressure until the atmospheric pressure on both sides is equal, the water surface in the container becomes the same height, and the water will stop flowing. The water in the container can be drawn out quickly by using the siphon phenomenon.
2. Siphon application
Because the corresponding air pressure on both sides is basically the same, the corresponding high nozzle is at a relatively low position because the depth of the liquid surface extends far, that is, it is lower than the depth of the low nozzle. Low, so we know that from the mouth of the nozzle, the pressure at the corresponding lower nozzle is higher, but the liquid will still flow from the high-level container to the low-level container. So we know that the reason for this phenomenon is that the pressure here can only be transmitted to the upper surface of the liquid. Although the pressure of the tube in the low cup is high, it cannot reach the high cup, so the liquid will flow down.
For modern products, there are also things made using the principle of siphons, and they are all around us. For example, flushing toilets, and conduits for irrigation. Some other shower equipment will also have these things.
